the days of summer

a poem about days gone past. i wrote two versions of this, this was the first.

how i long for the
days of summer
when our bodies stayed warm
and the sun set late.

how i long for the
days of summer
when innocence ran wild
and the nights never ended.

how i long for the
days of summer
when laughter rang through the air
and happiness hit its peak.

how i long for the
days of summer
when you and i
were an us.
