 "love is hard," they say.

"i disagree," she says, "loving you was easy. loving you was the obvious thing. loving you was a choice and it was a wonderful choice to make. loving you wasn't hard. and i would do it over and over again, even if the result was the same."

"the hard thing," she says, "was the grief — the grief of losing you. grieving a loss so deep it burned. grieving a vanishing life. grieving the unrequitedness, the unfairness. grieving is hard. but, i still would've loved you even if the grief was inevitable."
